The O'Briens by Peter Behrens
Follow-up to Law of Dreams, which is the story of Irish immigrants, this novel traces the story of the author's grandfather, an ambitious and wealthy railroad magnate, his marriage to his talented wife, and their complex family. It starts in the back country of Quebec at the turn of the century and moves around the world and through both World Wars.
An excellent read.

Loving Frank is a novel based on the real life affair of Frank Lloyd Wright and Mameh Chesney. It was highly scandalous at the time and has a very tragic ending. The novel has interesting commentary on the lives of women in the 1920s & 30s. Everything was Goodbye is set in Delta. The main character Mina struggles with the expectations around marriage in her traditional South Asian family. The issues of arranged marriages and inter-cultural relationships are explored. Another tragic endng though so be prepared to feel saddened if you read either of these books!
