Book Descriptions

I've been reading (well, skimming) Joyce Saricks' Reader's Advisory Guide to Genre Fiction and am inspired to suggest that we use her 4 "elements of appeal" in describing our books. These are pacing, characterization, story line and frame. Frame is physical setting and atmosphere. Also, if we can, mention the kind of reader it might appeal to. And for the blog, at least, we should keep it short. Pat's review on this blog seems like about the right length. What do you think?

I helped with an RA workshop last spring and we relied quite heavily on Joyce Saricks' book. I also found it useful to think about the appeal factors and while I think I was doing that already at some level, her discussion crystalized some of my thinking. Teresa
