Welcome to Genrestudy

At tonight's Genre study meeting as we discussed our 10th anniversary, we decided to abandon the old fashioned minute taking and enter the 21st century with our very own blog. Why this momentous decision?
  • our aging brains can't recall the meeting details as well as they used to leading us to scratch our heads when we read the minutes. Is that what I thought of that book?!!
  • when at work, we can search the blog for the title of that book we know is just perfect for the person looking for something to read. You will like this book.
  • we can present the evolution of our genre study book at a conference in an exotic location
  • each person will be responsible for creating their own summary of the book they read for each meeting.

So here we go. The next stage of our journey!

The schedule is not out yet for the Writer's Festival, but I should hear from Jane (general manager) soon. Someone may have to volunteer to buy the tix for the Writer's Sunday brunch as this usually sells out quickly and I will be away from Aug. 30 to Sept. 14. Kathryn

Excellent! I'd love to see the proposal. Seems to me that I ought to be able to start a fresh posting for a new subject, as opposed to leaving a comment on the previous ones, but cannot figure out how. Will investigate.

Hmmm. Just talked with my boss re blogs vs wikis and it seems the latter may be a better alternative for our book annotations, especially since blogger.com apparently doesn't offer the opportunity to create categories. It's good for conversations though, so maybe we'll have both. I've signed on to peanutbutter wikis, so we'll see how that pans out.
